Amp Installation/Configuration

The hardest part of this step is mounting it to the rear deck. I built a shelf out of wood and used "L" brackets and short sheet metal screws to mount it to the underside of the deck in the trunk. Originally the side rails were solid which caused the amp to overheat and reach it's shut-off point in a big hurry. Since I've cut the chunks out I no longer have the problem. My dealer recommended mounting the amp on the floor of the trunk, but I think it would be vulnerable to damage when loading items in and out. Having it under the deck keeps it out of the way and makes for simple adjustments from the front-panel controls.

I ran all of the speaker/input wiring from the rear left corner under the trunk trim panels and through the channel in the front of the package shelf. The power wire was run from the battery, under the right side trim panels and through the channel in the package shelf. All poke through the center "triangle" which is right where my amp is mounted.
